If there is severe clear in Valdez, do it. What an enjoyable time. Cloudy might be good too. Jenny is a great pilot, smooth as riding on a cloud. So happy to meet the owner, Leigh. Never dreamed I wanted to be that near a glacier, but sure glad I got to.

We took a trip out to the Shoup Glacier, piloted by the spirited Jenny, in early July. We vacillated for hours before spending money to see yet more glaciers, but the staff were so incredibly real and helpful on the phone — without an ounce of hard sell — that we finally decided to “go for it”. From the moment we arrived at the airport, we knew we’d made the right decision. We loved it. The views from the air were beyond belief, and Jenny’s love of her job is infectious. We came back down with wide grins and are still talking about our experience. Do it!

We were hesitant to take this trip, mainly because of the cost. We were so glad that we decided to go on the tour. Our pilot was so nice and funny. She was very informed of the area and made the ride up to Columbia Glacier very memorable. Once there, we spent well over an hour up there. It was just my husband and I and our pilot. Very intimate. It was amazing to see the glaciers from above instead of from the end as we have on many boat tours. Once up there we saw firsthand icebergs, glacier carvings, and we were even shown how to pan for gold. One of the highlights of our trip. Worth every dollar. Be prepared to see some of the best Alaska has to offer!!!!

This helicopter experience was amazing! You get to fly right over the Shoup and Columbia glaciers! Then the pilot landed the helicopter on an island right next the glacier! On top of the amazing breathtaking views the pilot Jenny was very informative and took some awesome pictures for the group! If you are in Valdez make sure to take the tour!

We six Hoosiers (three couples) were totally in awe of our helicopter excursion over the glaciers and gold mine of Valdez. We had to take two copters at the same time and had the time of our lives exploring the beauty of the mountains. Pilots Jenny and Kevin were as excited to show us the ever changing glaciers as we were to see them from above for the first time. Their enthusiasm and confidence put us quickly at ease. By all means don’t let this opportunity pass if you are in Valdez. This was the highlight of our 7 week road trip to Alaska.

While visiting Valdez, we decided to explore the possibility of seeing a Glacier from above. We placed the call and were advised they had a pilot available, in 20 minutes. Being it was so close to town, we headed to the airport. We were excited to fly with the Awesome Pilot Jenny! She was very knowledgeable and spotted a black bear on the hillside, looped around so we could see! She then flew over the town of Valdez pointing out which homes and businesses that were relocated after the title wave of 1964. On to the beautiful view of the Glacier! We took the short flight and was not disappointed! I do think actually landing on the glacier would give another experience well worth while! The take off and landing was so smooth, you truly didn’t feel it. Great Experience! We would highly recommend VSHelicopters Tour any time! Ask for Jenny, if she is available!

We took the one hour flight and I can say that it couldn’t be better. Our pilot, Leigh, was amazing. She took us to great spots and we saw more things than we expected. She was very professional, but personable at the same time, making that experience educational and fun. WOULD RECOMMEND TO EVERYBODY!!!!!

We were touring Alaska. We took boat cruises, plane rides over Denali and train rides but nothing compared to this. The views of the Columbia glacier was fantastic along with the views of bear and sheep. Until you’ve flown in one of these it is almost indescribable. As there were four of us we took two helicopters and the two young pilots were first rate. If you are traveling to Alaska this is an absolute must. You have not seen Alaska until you take one of these rides.

Wanna see what Alaska is all about? VSHelicopters picks you up at your hotel and you never look back! I was with pilot Leigh and although I have a SERIOUS case of vertigo I enjoyed this trip from the moment they helped me to strap in.There were 3 helicopters on this trip,so when one of them comes into view you realize how vast the whole area is.We had a smooth landing on Shoup Glacier, tasted some glacier water and threw rocks into crevasses – sounds like thunder. If there’s ONE extratour you do in Alaska – THIS is it! This helicopter ride is the greatest thing to experience – add it to your bucketlist!

Here’s the actual deal, our plans to take the kayak tour to the glacier fell through due to ferry scheduling issues. So this was truly a last minute decision and I was concerned about the cost. My wife said we should go for it and I couldn’t be more delighted that we did. It truly was the most spectacular HIGHLIGHT of our two week trip followed closely by our kayak day in Seward with Adventure 60 North. You must do this trip and please include the glacier beach landing. Taking pictures standing next to the huge icebergs is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our pilot (owner of the company) was fantastic, she made it an extremely fun trip.

3 couples (all family) booked with VSHelicopters as soon as we got to Valdez. We went in the morning-beautiful day, no wind, and blue skies — so awesome. We loved that all 6 of us could go at one time in 2 helicopters. We all wore jackets, long pants, boots or tennis shoes with socks—-Don’t forget your camera or iPhone–our pictures were fabulous. Everything about this “trip” was great from the pilots,scenery and length of trip(2 hours).this was my first time in a helicopter and was very nervous–absolutely nothing to worry about.It was the highlight of my trip.

It seems like an age ago when Jenny took us up in her shiny orange helicopter. I’m back home now and sat looking at the million photographs I have and now I’ve time to write a review for this great company and an excellent trip. We wanted some wedding photo’s taking up on a glacier and not only was Jenny a great pilot who was very knowledgeable about the area but she took some cracking photographs for us and played some decent tunes as we cruised around. Everything was made easy and it made for one of our highlights of our trip.
